What Is Whois?

Whois is a directory system that shows who registered a domain on the internet, when it expires, and its contact information.

When you buy a domain, your identity and contact information is recorded in this publicly viewable database according to the extension's rules. WHOIS protection hides this information on extensions that allow it.

With Whois Protection:

Protection from spam email
Protection from unwanted calls
Protection from identity theft
GDPR-compliant protection
Automatic renewal
24/7 protection
Important Information
WHOIS protection isn't available on every extension. Some extensions — including .tr domains in Turkey — require registrant information to remain publicly visible by rule; protection can't be applied on these. Even where protection can be enabled, the service doesn't remove true ownership information: authorities may still request and receive it. The protection it provides is against commercial spam and unwanted contact.
